Hey, change of plans. Someone from our world showed up, and Zack and I are going to go get her. Not sure how long it'll take us to get back to you guys, so don't make your plans around us.

Also, did you see the obituary? I think that means it's safe to go to the convenience store for now.

What about that other girl you were being weird at?

[There's an awkward second as Kunsel both realizes who Jim must be talking about and remembers that conversation with her. That hadn't been one of his shining moments there.

But Jim wouldn't know that, and doesn't need to, either. But he should know at least a few things.]

She's a Turk. They're... They work for the same company that Zack and I did. Investigation, infiltration, bodyguards - they're a bit of everything, but mostly deal with maintaining the company's secrets and public image. They handle a lot of the dirtier aspects there, too. Don't underestimate her.

But... I think she's also on our side. Though you should probably still be careful around her.

[There's an odd quality to his voice - surprised, guarded, somewhat disgruntled.

But not necessarily angry. Maybe not even offended.]

Why, is there something you don't want me to know about? You sound a little nervous there.

[Kunsel sighs.]

Jim, if there was something I didn't want you to know, don't you think I'd be smart enough not to say it in a thread I know you could access if you wanted to?

[He pauses, letting Jim think about that for a second.]

You have a tool at your disposal. Tools are meant to be used, and I'd be surprised if you didn't ever use it. [He'd certainly do so if the program was on his tablet.] But I generally trust you, too. Whatever you find out, I'm sure I don't have to worry.

Well, except worrying about how to explain the stuff you wouldn't have the history to understand.

[Which was what he'd been thinking about just now.]

[ Kunsel has a way of breaking things down in a way that makes Jim feel like he should've thought of that already, but it's comforting too. It's a while before Jim answers back, and he sounds a lot calmer this time. ]

-You're right. I'm sorry, I just ... don't like secrets. But I didn't read anything you didn't make public.

If there's something I do need to know, you're going to tell me, right?

[Unlike Kunsel's other replies, this one takes a while to come. When it does, the man's voice has changed from calm to something tense.]

I'm not going to promise not to keep secrets from you, Jim. We all have secrets, or things we just don't want to talk about. I'm sure you do, too.

But since we're on the topic of telling you things you need to know, can I ask you a favor? Zack and I need to talk to you, Cloud, and Hiro, and I need Tifa in this, too, and I need it under that filter only your tablet can set up. It's important.

[He can't emphasize that enough.]

[ That's not really comforting, but Jim isn't really in a position to make demands of anybody and he knows it. It's just a reminder that he can't necessarily trust anyone all that far. Not yet. ]
